I just rewatched Tom Scott's "If Educational Videos Were Filmed Like Music Videos" video. This is one of those videos that stays in the back of your mind and that you feel you have to watch every so often.

Tom Scott shows some of the interesting techniques and concepts that make up a modern music video. Occasional product placement. Frequent cuts to different angles or scenes. Actors wearing different clothes in new shots. Tom's video makes me realise there is so much more to music videos than meets the eye. I remember reading an analysis of Despacito two or so years ago. The same analytical mindset could be applied to many more videos.

I wonder what I'll learn if I pay a bit more attention to the videos of my favourite songs.
